Marie-Claire Cousineau started studying the violin with her father, Jean Cousineau. She got her Bachelor's degree at UQAM, having studied with Martin Foster, and then went to Salzburg to study with Jean-Jaques Kantorow. She is co-director and principal violin of the Les Petits Violons. Knowledgeable and passionate about her work, her cheeerful disposition and love of music imbue the teaching of her young students at l'École Les Petits Violons. She performs also with Amati, l'OM, l'Ensemble Romulo Larrea and as a free-lance musician with many other groups.
