James Box is currently serving his sixth season as Principal Trombone with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. He is Assistant Professor of Trombone at McGill University, and he also serves on the faculty of the National Orchestral Institute (USA) and the Orford Arts Centre. He has made solo appearances with the OSM, the McGill Wind Symphony, and the Eastern Music Festival Orchestra. A native of Ripley, Tennessee, James first studied trombone with his father and grandfather.Mr. Box holds a B.M. magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University, and a M.M. from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
